McAllen Roundup Attorneys
Putting People Over Profits For More Than 44 Years
Roundup (glyphosate) is the most widely used herbicide in the United States. It has also inspired tens of thousands of cancer claims. While Roundup is one of Bayer/Monsanto’s biggest moneymakers, it has also cost the company more than $10 billion. Unfortunately, this is nothing compared to the human cost Roundup has had on consumers. Glyphosate, the active ingredient in Roundup, has been classified as “probably carcinogenic to humans” since March 2015. This means the popular herbicide can, and probably does, cause cancer.
If you have been diagnosed with cancer after using Roundup, the Law Offices of Ramon Garcia can help.

Is Glyphosate Dangerous?
Agri-giant Monsanto developed Roundup (glyphosate) in 1974. About 20 years later, the company developed crops that were immune to its herbicidal qualities. As a result, Roundup use exploded – and another 20 years later, so did cancer claims. Casual and commercial users of Roundup suffered one specific diagnosis: non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. In 3 major lawsuits, juries found the company liable in plaintiffs’ claims of non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. According to these juries, glyphosate is dangerous, and Roundup does cause cancer.

The Bayer/Monsanto Settlement
In 2016, a German company called Bayer purchased Monsanto for $63 billion. Both companies insist Roundup is safe, but their $10 billion settlement with thousands of plaintiffs suggests otherwise. The settlement covers approximately 95,000 cases and sets aside $1.25 billion for claims yet to arise. At least 30,000 plaintiffs have not agreed to join the settlement.
The company has also established an expert panel to determine whether or not glyphosate causes cancer and at what level the chemical is dangerous. If the panel determines glyphosate does not cause cancer, Bayer/Monsanto will not be able to use this defense in future trials.
Although the settlement is not an admission of guilt or liability and is designed to slow the barrage of lawsuits, now may be the best time to file a Roundup claim.
Your outcome will depend largely on the results of Bayer/Monsanto’s expert panel, but you can rest assured the Law Offices of Ramon Garcia will fight for your rights.
Why File a Claim?
Monsanto is one of the world’s most hated companies, and it is easy to say why. The company recently paid a $400 million settlement from another chemical, dicamba, and put aside $820 million to settle an age-old series of toxic water contamination lawsuits.
If you have been diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, you should not let Bayer/Monsanto get away with their wrongdoings. In addition to bringing the company to justice, you may be able to recover compensation for your cancer treatment. The average costs for treating cancer run approximately $150,000, which is a significant amount for everyday Americans but a paltry sum for the self-proclaimed third-largest agricultural company in the world.
In addition to medical expenses, your settlement or verdict can help you with:
